Trish’s Stor Mara is more than a beach house, it’s a place with a story. Stor Mara means “Sea Treasure” in Irish. Trish was our mom, originally from Dublin, and although she lived all over the world, Galveston was her happy place. When our family bought this home, she always imagined it as a space to welcome guests, she truly loved hosting. After she passed in 2023, we decided to honor her by creating a warm, family-friendly guest space and naming it after her. Today, Trish’s Stor Mara is a cozy Galveston home that’s a great fit for families, with a simple single-story layout and a big fenced backyard for outdoor time. You’re just one block from the beach (about a 2-minute walk), so beach days are always close, and you’ve got plenty of space to relax when you’re back at the house.
Start the day with a quick walk to the sand, spend the afternoon exploring the seawall or downtown, then come home to grill dinner and unwind in the yard. Whether you’re traveling with kids, grandparents, or bringing the pups along, Trish’s Stor Mara is a comfortable place to settle in and enjoy the island.
THE HOUSE
MAIN LEVEL:
Trish’s Stor Mara sleeps 6 and is all on one level, so it’s comfortable and convenient for guests of all ages. The living room has multiple couches, a TV with streaming services, plus books and games for downtime. The dining area includes a table that seats 6, and there’s a pull-out sofa bed for extra sleeping space. You’ll also have a full laundry room available during your stay.
Sleeping includes:
● Bedroom 1: Queen bed + dedicated workspace (desk, monitor, chair)
● Bedroom 2: Queen bed + twin-over-twin bunk set
● Pull-out sofa bed
Bathroom:
● Full bathroom with shower (centrally located)
OUTDOOR SPACES
The backyard is a standout here: fully fenced, spacious, and set up for relaxing island evenings. Grill on the charcoal BBQ, eat outside at the picnic table, and let the day wind down under the stars.
